Melissa, a California Bay Area native, is a highly accomplished interior designer known for creating refined, functional, and visually compelling spaces. As an award-winning professional, she has extensive experience across all aspects of luxury residential design, ranging from intimate condominium projects to expansive custom estates. Her expertise spans both traditional and contemporary design, allowing her to deliver tailored interiors that reflect the unique lifestyles and preferences of her clients.
Her design approach is rooted in clear communication and collaborative engagement, ensuring that each project achieves a cohesive and exceptional outcome aligned with client expectations and industry best practices.
From an early age, Melissa demonstrated a natural passion for interior design, often reimagining and rearranging living spaces. She pursued her formal education in Saratoga, California, earning a FIDER-accredited Advanced Interior Design Certificate from West Valley College, further strengthening her professional foundation.
Melissa began her career with a high-end residential design firm in Los Altos, specializing in custom cabinetry and kitchen and bath design. Over six years, she developed her technical expertise, refined her design process, and progressed within the organization.
Following a brief maternity leave, she continued her career as a Senior Designer at a luxury kitchen and bath design firm in downtown Menlo Park, where she spent another six years leading high-end projects and delivering premium design solutions.
Building on her extensive industry experience, Melissa established her own firm, Melissa Nierman Designs, where she continues to provide elevated, client-focused design services.
